Rola-Case USA

Choosing van shelving comes down to three decisions in order: the trade you work in, the vehicle you drive, and how much drawer storage you need. RolaCase builds shelving packages around exactly that sequence, so this guide walks each step and points you to the right range.

Step 1: Start with your trade, not the parts

The fastest way to a working van is to begin with a trade package rather than assembling parts one at a time. Each RolaCase package is a matched set built for one vehicle and wheelbase, and the packages are built from the same four elements:

  • A driver side bin package
  • A passenger side bin package
  • A partition kit with a standard set back
  • An anchor kit, listed as a roof and floor anchor kit on most packages

What changes between packages is the trade variant. Each vehicle and wheelbase is offered as:

The bin configuration for each variant is listed on the product page for your van.

Because the partition and anchors are part of the package, you are not left quoting a bulkhead separately from the shelving.

Step 2: Match the vehicle and wheelbase

Packages are listed by van and wheelbase, so the fit is decided before you order. The range covers:

If you are unsure of your roof height, that is the one detail worth confirming before requesting a quote, because it changes which partition you need.

Step 3: Choose your drawer storage

Shelving handles bulk. Drawers handle the small parts you reach for constantly. RolaCase metal drawer systems come in five series, and the series sets the width of the cabinet. Depth is consistent at 18 inches across the kits.

Series Width Suits
4 Series 16.5 inch Tight runs, narrow wall space, a first drawer bank
6 and 8 Series See product page A step up in capacity without taking a full wall
10 Series 39.7 inch Serious parts storage in a full size van
12 Series 49.5 inch The widest bank, for high parts volume or a service body

Within a series, kits mix two drawer sizes, Standard and Large. A kit might run four Standard drawers, or combine two Standard with one Large, depending on whether you carry many small parts or a few bulky ones. Drawers are lockable, full extension, and rated for heavy loads.

The system is modular on purpose. The RCJNR/C vertical joining bracket connects cabinet kits vertically, so one cabinet today can become a stacked bank later without replacing what you already own. Top trays are available per series if you want a working surface on top.

Choosing a partition: standard or deep setback

The trade packages include a partition kit with a standard set back. If you need more room in the cargo area, Deep Setback Panels add an additional 2.5 inches of depth to the standard setback partition. On a Ford Transit, a header panel converts the mid roof partition into a high roof partition, and a high roof header panel is also available for the Mercedes Sprinter. Gas and refrigerant storage for HVAC

HVAC work brings a storage requirement the other trades do not have. The RSGAC-41 vented gas cabinet is a general purpose cabinet that fits N size bottles and is designed for gas, fuel, oxy and acetylene storage. For refrigerant, the RSGBH/43 three tier tank holder is designed to secure up to three refrigerant tanks, and the racks can be adjusted. Both sit in gas and refrigerant storage.

Box trucks are a different problem

A box truck gives you far more enclosed cargo volume than a van, and the shelving follows suit. The RolaCase box truck range includes 137 inch driver side shelving and bin storage systems, with HVAC, electrical and general trade variants, as well as 103 inch driver side bin packages. If you are running a two person crew, keeping the most frequently picked items on a single side shortens the walk on every job. Start at box truck shelving systems or read the box truck storage guide.

What it costs

Pricing in the US is by quote. Tell us the vehicle, the wheelbase, the roof height and the trade, and you get a price for the exact configuration rather than a list price for parts you do not need.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best van shelving for an HVAC cargo van?

An HVAC package matched to your van and wheelbase, because it pairs driver and passenger side HVAC bin layouts with the partition and anchor kit in one set. Add a vented gas cabinet if you carry gas bottles, and a refrigerant tank holder if you carry tanks.

Do the packages include a bulkhead?

Yes. The trade packages include a partition kit with a standard set back, along with the anchor kit. Check the individual package for the exact anchor components.

Which is better, shelving or drawers?

Most working vans use both. Shelving carries bulk, drawers carry the small parts you reach for constantly. If you are choosing one first, start with the trade package for the shelving, then add a drawer series once you know how much small parts storage you need.

Can I add to the system later?

Yes. The vertical joining bracket connects cabinet kits so a single cabinet can become a stacked bank, and shelving and drawers can be combined in the same van.

How do I know which roof height I have?

Roof height changes which partition fits, so it is worth confirming before you order. If you are unsure, tell us the van, year and wheelbase when you request a quote and we will confirm it.
